Edwin L. Hussung

Edwin Louis Hussung, 84, Lanesville, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012, at his home.
Born July 23, 1927, in Lanesville, he was the son of the late Edgar G. and Carmen D. Bell Hussung.
He was a Navy veteran, retired as the Lanesville Postmaster after 26 years, was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville and was a member of the Lanesville Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Russell Hussung, and a sister, Josephine Gibson.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, the former Dorothy E. Walther; three daughters, Sandy Young of New Albany and Vickie Jacobs and Pam Johnston, both of Lanesville; two brothers, Bill and Marvin Hussung, both of Lanesville; three sisters, Wilma Smith and Carol Smith, both of Lanesville, and Paula Faith of New Middletown; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, April 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday, April 19, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, April 19, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Officiant: Pastor Christopher Truelsen.
Pallbearers: Jeremy Young, Clint, Nic and Seth Jacobs, Troy McMillin and Jordan Puckett.
The family suggests memorial gifts to St. John’s Lutheran Church or School.
