Elsie A. Smith

Elsie Amy Smith, 95, Corydon, died Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Indian Creek Health & Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
Born March 2, 1916, in Harrison County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Otto and Cora Pinaire Wiseman.
She was a homemaker and a member of Highland Avenue Holiness Church in Corydon.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cort E. Smith; five brothers, Cecil, Forest, Glen, Louis and Gene; and six sisters, Pearl, Ruby, Jacie, Alma, Pauline and Mary.
Survivors include three sons, the Rev. Lewis Smith of Texarkana, Ark., the Rev. Denzil Smith of Danville, Va., and Lonnie Smith of New Albany; three daughters, Ruth Wright of Corydon and Wanda Weaver and Kelta Sherman, both of Hobe Sound, Fla.; a sister, Mary Arnold of Jeffersonville; 18 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, March 4, from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 5, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, March 5, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery near Corydon.
Officiants: the Rev. Lewis Smith and Rev. Denzil Smith.
The family suggests memorial gifts to her church.
