George L. Haines Jr.

George Louis Haines Jr., 80, Corydon, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born Nov. 18, 1931, in Louisville, he was a self-employed construction steel worker, a life member of the VFW and a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Louis Haines Sr. and Omar C. and Margaret Ann Stickler Royalty, and a sister, Anna Sanders.
Survivors include his wife, the former Polly McKinney; two sons, Richard and Dennis L. Haines, both of Corydon; a daughter, Radessa Hess of Lanesville; a sister, Gladys Hook of Floyds Knobs; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Feb. 21, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 22, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Lanesville Cemetery.
Officiant: Pastor Tim Johnson.
Pallbearers: Taylor Hess, Dan Wagner, Dustin Hiller, Gary Bernardi, Carl Hook and Mark Priddy.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society or the Robley Rex V.A. Medical Center in Louisville.
