Viola E. Grugin-Carmickle

Viola E. Seitz Grugin-Carmickle, 95, New Albany, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 8, 2012, at Lincoln Hills Health Center in New Albany.
A native of Lanesville, she was a 1935 graduate of New Albany High School, an employee of the Floyd County school system, having worked as support staff for Mount Tabor Elementary School in New Albany, and was a member of Scottsville Christian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, La Belle Chapter 419, and the VFW Post 1693 Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Lee Grugin; her second husband, Otis O. Carmickle; two sisters, Kathryn Plant and Margaret Stewart; and a brother, Henry Seitz.
Survivors include nephews and nieces.
Visitation: Friday, Feb. 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Service in New Albany.
Funeral: Friday, Feb. 10, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with interment in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery near Lanesville.
