Chester C. Alexander Jr.

Chester C. Alexander Jr., 77, New Albany, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012.
Born April 9, 1934, in New Albany, he was the son of late Chester C. and Dorothy M. Mitchem Alexander Sr.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, a retired manager with the General Electric Appliance Park in Louisville, a member of Bethel AME Church in New Albany and an original member of the Southern Indiana Coon Hunters Association.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Ann Taylor; three daughters, Stephanie B. Wood, Kaye J. Forte and Sharon R. Alexander.
Survivors include four children, Robert W. Alexander and Constance L. Webster, both of New Albany, Chester C. Alexander III of Spotsylvania, Va., and Myron L. Alexander of Fairborn, Ohio; two siblings; Marion L. Brown and Robert L. Alexander, both of New Albany; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
Visitation: Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home in New Albany.
Funeral: Thursday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. at Bethel AME Church in New Albany with cremation to follow.
