Floyd (Bud) Bennett
Floyd (Bud) Bennett, 76, Corydon, did Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012.
Born Jan. 12, 1936, he was the son of the late Floyd and Helen McPhillips Bennett.
He was in the insurance industry for 52 years, was owner and president of Bennett & Bennett Insurance Inc., was a community volunteer and leader in many organizations in Southern Indiana and was a member of Old Capital Golf Club in Corydon and Imperial Golf Club in Naples, Fla.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Bennett.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, the former Betty Engleman; a daughter, Pamela Bennett Martin of Georgetown; two sons, Mark Bennett of Naples, Fla., and Larry Bennett of Corydon; five siblings, Marlene Duley of Clarksville, Betty Hayden and Michael Bennett, both of Corydon, Jerry Bennett of Sellersburg and Cathy Thomas of Borden; and two grandsons.
Visitation: Thursday, Feb. 2, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 3, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon.
Celebration of Life Mass: Saturday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m. at the church with entombment in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Arrangements: Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Homes Inc. in Corydon with Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey and Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Officiants: Father Rob Hankee and Father John Fink.
