Everett E. Bruce

Everett Elmer Bruce, 88, Corydon, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Indian Creek Health & Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
Born Oct. 4, 1923, in New Amsterdam, he was the son of the late Elmer and Alice Kintner Bruce.
He was retired from Keller Manufacturing Co. in Corydon, was a member of Community of Hope Church of the Nazarene in Corydon and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, the former Clara Jean Love; a son, Ronnie Everett Bruce of Corydon; two daughters, Joyce Philpot of Lanesville and Virginia Hamilton of Corydon; a brother, Earl Bruce of Central Barren; three sisters, Evelyn Vaughn of Corydon and Janice Fritz and Doris Sutton, both of Muncie; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Saturday, Jan. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 15, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 16, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Heidelberg Cemetery near Corydon.
Officiant: Paul Watts.
Pallbearers: Ronnie, Rodney and Jason Bruce, Tony Brewster, Marty and Curtis Hamilton and Vincent Love.
Honorary pallbearers: Jennifer Bishop, Patty Shaffer and Tricia Behringer.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society.
