Earl H. Fowler

Earl H. Fowler, 90, Corydon, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born March 8, 1921, in Leavenworth, he was the son of the late William H. and Hallie Curts Fowler.
He was retired from Jeffboat in Jeffersonville, was a member and longtime deacon for Calvary Cathedral in Louisville and was an Army veteran of World War II, where he was a POW for 19 months and earned the Purple Heart and Sharp Shooter awards.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Eva June Slaughterback, and a brother, Donald Deen Fowler.
Survivors include a son, Earl Fowler Jr. of New Albany; a brother, Bethel Fowler of Bowling Green, Ky.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Dec. 21, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 22, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, Dec. 22, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Jordan Cemetery near Corydon.
