Austin Richie Jr., 85, Georgetown, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, at Wedgewood Healthcare Center in Clarksville.
Born March 9, 1926, in Anco, Ky., in Knott County, he was the son of the late Austin Sr. and Catherine Richie.
He was an automotive maintenance employee at Jeffboat, where he retired after 22 years of service. He was a Cub Scout master and then involved with Boy Scouts for more than 20 years, was Past Master of Georgetown Masonic Order No. 480 for more than 50 years and was a member for more than 60 years. He was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church in Georgetown and was a World War II Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, the former Jewell Singleton; a son, Kenneth D. Richie; three daughters, Diane Richie, Patricia Elliott and Deborah Richie; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Visitation: Friday, Dec. 9, from 3 to 8 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7:30, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.
Funeral: Saturday, Dec. 10, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial and military rites in Wolfe Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Paul and Phillip Bowman, Sam Miller and Michael, David and Aaron Richie.
The family suggests memorial gifts be made to either Masonic Lodge No. 480 in Georgetown or to his church.
