Mary Jean Frederick Friedman, 83, New Albany, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at her home.
Born Aug. 6, 1928, in Beatyville, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Pearl Jackson.
She was a retired nursing assistant from Floyd Memorial Hospital.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Foster Frederick, and second husband of five years, Edwin Friedman; two sisters, Stella Evans and Edith Stephens; and a grandson, Martin Alan Frederick.
Survivors include five children, Alan (Al) Frederick of Greenville, Gary Frederick and Karon Sellers, both of Georgetown, Sharon Crowe of New Salisbury and Becky Yates of New Albany; three sisters, Fannie Jewell of Berea, Ky., Elizabeth Stephens of Orleans and Ann Bary of Depauw; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, Oct. 20, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 21, after 9 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Friday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Horners Chapel Cemetery near Fredericksburg.
