Jacob Andrew Liebert, 90, Corydon, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born May 30, 1921, in Laconia, he was the son of the late Andrew John and Carrie Schweitzer Liebert.
He was retired as railroad security for CSX Railroad after 25 years of service and was a member of Rehobeth Presbyterian Church in Laconia.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Marie Liebert and Vada Liebert Barnickle, and two brothers, Glenda Herman Liebert and Carl Clinton Liebert Sr.
Survivors include his wife, the former Betty Lou Binkley; seven sons, Richard and Verne, both of Corydon, Leonard of Cody, Wyo., John of Lafayette, La., Gary of Depauw, Brent of Mitchellville, Iowa, and Jeffrey of New Salisbury; a daughter, Anna Jean Wetzel of Ramsey; a sister, Pearle Mae Luther of Elizabeth; 20 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, Oct. 7, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Saturday, Oct. 8, at 3 p.m. at Rehobeth Presbyterian Church in Laconia with burial in the church cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Philo Jones.
Pallbearers: Richard, Verne, Leonard, John, Gary, Brent and Jeffrey Liebert and Leroy Wetzel.
The family suggests memorial gifts to his church.
