Lewis W. Vance
Lewis W. Vance, 92, Paoli, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at Paoli Health and Living.
Born Sept. 11, 1919, in Valeene, he was the son of the late Edward and Alice Elizabeth Vance.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, retired from Paoli Chair and a member of Paoli First Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Ernestine Holiday; two brothers, Earl and Carl Vance; and three sisters, Erma Stroud, Eleanor Burnett and Meta Clark.
Survivors include two sons, Ronnie and Vincent Vance, both of Paoli; a brother, Mahlon Vance of Muncie; a sister, Elma Burden of Paoli; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 28, after 9 a.m. at Wellman Funeral Home in Paoli.
Funeral: Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Paoli Community Cemetery.
