James A. Draper, 67, formerly of Leavenworth and Bardstown, Ky., died Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
Born June 8, 1944, in Leavenworth, he was the son of the late Harry A. and Barbara Lahue Draper.
He was a former tree trimmer.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Lahue, and a sister, Joyce Knowland.
Survivors include five sons, James Jr., Michael and Jamie Draper, all of New Albany, William Draper of Jeffersonville, and Timothy Burton of Palmyra; six daughters, Karen Walton, Thelma Brown and Pam Ashby, all of New Albany, Amanda Cheatham of New Salisbury and Jessica Draper and Keshia Draper, both of Palmyra; a sister, Norma Hardin of New Albany; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, Sept. 25, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 26, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Tower Cemetery near Carefree.
Officiant: Pastor Tim Johnson.
Pallbearers: Austin Nevil, Terry Denton, Ryan Ashby, James Wilhite and Daniel and Bobby Draper.
