Cheryl Lynn Reed Newton, 49, Corydon, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at 9:16 a.m. at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis after a battle with lymphoma.
Born Jan. 30, 1962, in Corydon, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. (Bobby) and Vernonia Toler Reed.
She was employed as an insurance representative at Bennett & Bennett Insurance Inc., was a former employee of Rainbow’s End Child Care in Corydon and was a member of Pfrimmer’s Chapel United Methodist Church near Corydon, where she played keyboard with the praise and worship team.
Survivors include her husband, Jim; three sons, Chris, Josh and Nathan, all of Corydon; two sisters, Kathy Reed Whitman and Martha Reed, both of Corydon; and a brother, Kevin Reed of New Salisbury.
Visitation: Wednesday, Sept. 7, from 4 to 9 p.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon and Thursday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Community of Hope Church of the Nazarene in Corydon.
Celebration of Life service: Thursday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m. at the church with interment at Pfrimmer’s Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.
Officiants: Pastors Tim Johnson and Mike Clark.
Pallbearers: Christopher, Joshua and Nathan Newton, Eric Haub, Sean Eastridge, Brad Rothrock, Taylor Johnson and Tony Wagner.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
