Kessinger named MVP at AAU Gym Rats Nationals

Corydon Central freshman Bronson Kessinger wrapped up his AAU basketball season with an impressive effort at the Gym Rats National Championship during the final week of July.
The event, held in Fort Wayne at the Spiece Fieldhouse, saw Kessinger’s Spiece Indy Heat 2015 team win the championship. The 6-foot-6 forward was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. He scored 28 points in the championship game.
According to, the site ranks Kessinger among the top freshman-to-be in Indiana. He ranks fifth in the class for college potential. During the summer of AAU, more than 10 major college basketball programs (Indiana, Purdue, Butler, Michigan, Michigan State, etc.) inquired through Kessinger’s coaches about him.
Spiece Indy Heat 2015 also won the King James Showcase in Chicago and the Battle for the Arch (silver bracket) in St. Louis. The team was runner-up in the Spiece Memorial Day Run and Slam along with the Classic.
Along the way, Kessinger was chosen as one of the nation’s top 100 players in the class of 2015 and was selected for the Fab Frosh All-American Showcase for the top 100 players.
