Marvin D. Binkley
Marvin Dean Binkley, 73, Corydon, died Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born March 27, 1938, in Danville, Ill., he was the son of the late Charles R. and Virginia Gay Kegley Binkley.
He was retired from Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, was an employee of Deer Country Equipment in Corydon and was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Sue Steen, and four sisters, Norma Binkley, Pauline Ireland, Audria Katcher and Doris Walker.
Survivors include a son, David W. Binkley of Asheville, N.C.; two daughters, Elaine Waller of New Albany and Kathryn Francis of Mason, Ohio; a brother, Dale Binkley of Round Lake Beach, Ill.; two sisters, Betty Liebert and Marilyn Schlerker, both of Corydon; and six grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, July 10, at 11 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Sunday, July 10, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Fairview Cemetery near Corydon.
Pallbearers: Johnny and Robert Steen, Leroy Wetzel, Dean Francis, Joe Miller, Michael Binkley, Nicholas Francis and Garth Kimmel.
Honorary pallbearers: Dale Binkley and Warren Haun.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
