Ruth Duggins, 92, New Albany, died Sunday, July 3, 2011, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
A native of Harrison County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Florence Smith.
She was a retired teacher’s aide from New Albany-Floyd County School Corp. and a member of Graceland Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Murlin M. Duggins; three brothers, Hugh, Charles and William Smith; and four sisters, Helen Branch, Beula Simmons, Kathryn Sage and Jean Smith.
Survivors include two sons, David Duggins of Homestead, Fla., and Paul Duggins of Charlestown; a daughter, Rose Marie Scharrer of Ramsey; a brother, Robert Smith of Homestead; and five grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, July 7, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Friday, July 8, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes in New Albany.
Funeral: Friday, July 8, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with interment at SCI Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
