Mary Madeline Prage Johns, 100, Greenfield, died Saturday night, June 18, 2011, at Golden Living Center ‘ Brandywine.
Born May 19, 1911, in Elizabeth, she was the daughter of the late John Christian and Sophia Johanna Dorthea Madaus Prage.
She was a homemaker, a former Sunday school teacher, youth group leader and pianist for Elizabeth Presbyterian Church, a member of First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield for more than 50 years and a 50-plus year member of the Miriam Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star of Greenfield.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Franklin Johns; a son, Howard Prage Johns; seven sisters, Margaret Prage, Matilda Garrison, Ella Prage, Elsie Glaze, Sophia Glaze, Joanna Winders and Helen Barger; and five brothers, Amzi, Herman, Walter, John and Herbert Prage.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Ann Jones and (Susie) Mary Margaret Circle (Larry), both of Greenfield; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, June 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, June 22, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield.
Funeral: Wednesday, June 22, at 11 a.m. with burial in Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
Officiant: Pastor John Paulson.
