Vera C. Baker

Vera Charlotte Baker, 89, died Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Pine Knoll Nursing Home in Carrollton, Ga.
Born Oct. 25, 1921, in Lawrenceville, Ill., she was the daughter of the late John B. Bogard and Mary Dorthy Wampler Bogard Conway.
She had been a 4-H club leader in Harrison County, retired as a caseworker for Community Action for Improvement and was a member of Crandall United Methodist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emery Baker; a sister, Josephine Stokeley; and an infant brother, Dennis Bogard.
Survivors include two daughters, Natalie Wilson of Carrollton and Nina Baker of Jeffersonville; a sister, Leona Conway of Vincennes; a grandson; and a great-grandson.
Visitation: Sunday, May 22, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Almon Funeral Home in Carrollton.
Private graveside service: Wednesday, May 25, at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Cemetery near Crandall. Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon handled local arrangements.
Officiant: The Rev. Ted Chalk.
