Alice Juanita Mathes Bussabarger, 92, Corydon, died Monday, May 23, 2011, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born April 10, 1919, in Harrison County, she was the daughter of the late John William and Mary Charlotte (Lottie) Bickel Mathes.
She was a retired cook at Corydon Central High School, a former housekeeper at Harrison County Hospital and a member of Northwest Christian Church near Depauw.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence (Raymond) Bussabarger; two grandchildren, Darrell Wayne Bussabarger Jr. and Dara Nicole Bussabarger; four brothers, Clem, Carl, George and William Bussabarger; and three sisters, Catherine Stoner, Clara Barrow and Helen Krantz.
Survivors include a son, Darrell Wayne Bussabarger of Corydon; a daughter, Brenda Sue Utz of Corydon; two brothers, John W. Mathes of Corydon and Harlan Mathes of Bakersfield, Calif.; a sister, Nellie M. Wheat of Lakeland, Fla.; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Visitation: Wednesday, May 25, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and tomorrow after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, May 26, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Heidelberg Cemetery south of Corydon.
Officiant: The Rev. Webster Oglesby.
Pallbearers: Owen, Carl and Mike Bussabarger and Loren, Eldon and Larry Mathes.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society or her church.
