2 churches opening storm shelters
Milltown Police Chief Ray Saylor has made arrangements for two churches with basements to be open, beginning at 6 p.m. today (May 25), for anyone who needs to seek shelter from the threat of severe storms that are predicted for later today.
The churches are Milltown Christian Church along East Main Street (Harrison County side) and Milltown United Methodist Church along Church Street (Crawford County side).
The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for the area at 12:18 p.m. today. The watch is expected to be in effect until 10 p.m. Damaging winds, large hail and possibly tornadoes with some storms are anticipated.
