Nova L. King

Nova L. King, 85, New Albany, died Thursday, May 12, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at his home.
Born Dec. 12, 1925, in Crawford County, he was the son of the late Daniel and Belva King.
Nova was a retired production supervisor for Colgate-Palmolive after 28 years, a Marine Corps who served in the South Pacific during World War II, a special deputy for the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department, a 32nd degree Mason, having been a member of the Clark Masonic Lodge in Jeffersonville for 50 years, and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Starlight.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, the former Martha Stumler, and a sister, Connie Palm of Florida.
Visitation: Sunday, May 15, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday, May 16, after 8:30 a.m. at Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany.
Funeral Mass: Monday, May 16, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Starlight with burial and military honors in the church cemetery with military honors.
