John A. McClanahan
John Allen McClanahan, 71, Bradford, died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at his home.
Born Dec. 11, 1939, in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Francis and Cecelia Crawford McClanahan.
He was a retired operations supervisor at North Harrison Community School Corp., was a reserve officer for the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, was a former Harrison County Precinct Committeeman in South Morgan Township and was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Jane Rainbolt; a son, Marty McClanahan of Corydon; three daughters, Alice Leffler, Leisa Bube of Corydon and Carol McClanahan of Carmel; two brothers, Thomas Irvin McClanahan of Louisville and Roy McClanahan of Palmyra; a sister, Doris Amy of Corydon; and six grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, April 25, from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, April 27, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Wednesday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Officiant: The Rev. Douglas Finney.
Pallbearers: Jacob McClanahan, Jason Londak, Jim Bube, Ronnie Booth and Steve and Christian Leffler.
Honorary pallbearers: Avi Leffler and Samuel Bube.
The family suggests memorial gifts to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
