Francis X. Fey Sr.

Francis Xavier Fey Sr., 83, Corydon, died Friday, March 25, 2011, at his home.
Born Oct. 30, 1927, in Louisville, he was the son of the late Leonard Thomas and Rosella F. Senn Fey.
He served two years in the Army, playing on the regimental baseball team; worked at Keller Manufacturing Co. in Corydon; raised broiler chickens; was a farmer; eventually became owner and operator of Frank Fey Builders; and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon, where he was an usher since 1951 and served on the cemetery committee, and the Knights of Columbus.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jarrod Schroeder, and a sister, Doll Rose Fey Woosley.
Survivors include his wife, the former Alice Josephine (Fofie) Pflanz; seven children, Marcia, Frank Jr., Mary, Malia, Tom, Joseph and Maureen; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, March 27, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary service at 7, and Monday, March 28, after 8 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral Mass: Monday, March 28, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon with burial and military rites at the church cemetery.
Pallbearers: Tyson, Andres, John and Quinton Schroeder, Eric Rose and Tommy, Joe and Nathan Fey.
The family requests no live flowers due to extreme asthma and allergies in the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to be made to his church or to the American Heart Association.
