Thomas W. Burger

Thomas William Burger, 84, New Albany, died Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born Aug. 7, 1926, in New Middletown, he was the son of Paul William and Edna (Dolly) Bauer Burger.
He was a computer programmer for L&N Railroad and a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Corydon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Ruth Burger.
Survivors include a son, Brent William Burger of Greenville; a daughter, Kathryn B. Johnson of New Albany; three brothers, James and Jacob Burger, both of Fenton, Mich., and Richard Burger of Clarksville; and three grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, March 27, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Monday, March 28, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, March 28, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Corydon with burial in the church cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Robyn Kistemaker.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society.
