Laura Margaret Booker Harmon, 77, formerly of New Albany, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011.
Born May 29, 1933, in Luttrell, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Stella Greenlee Booker.
She was a former employee of New Albany Box and Basket Co. and a member of First Capital Christian Church in Corydon.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mervyn B. Harmon Sr.; three sisters, Judy Murphy, Bonnie Wright and Frankie Renfro; and five half sisters, Fern Dukes, Opal Worsham, Ruby Colson, Evelyn Hunley and Jewel Onks.
Survivors include a son, Mervyn B. Harmon Jr.; two daughters, Debbie Fultz and Sheila Ehalt; seven sisters, Jean Dennie, Janet Haycox, Mary McDonald, Charlotte Pickett, Brenda Nichols, Faye Nelson and Shirley Wiseheart; a brother, Alan Booker; a half sister, Iris Davis; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, March 17, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Friday, March 18, from noon to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home in New Albany.
Funeral: Saturday, March 19, at 10 a.m. at First Capital Christian Church followed by burial at Kansas Cemetery near Fredericksburg.
Officiant: Pastor Randy Kirk.
