Sandra (Sandy) Garvin, 64, Salem, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born Nov. 18, 1946, in New Albany, she was the daughter of the late Kean and LaVon Newlin Hartman.
She was a homemaker and a former employee of Tyson Foods in Corydon.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Garvin, on Nov. 17, 1977; a brother, Larry K. Hartman, in 1975; and a grandson, Ryan K. Chastain, in 2007.
Survivors include two sons, Robert E. Garvin Jr. of Pekin and Kean E. Garvin of Salem; a daughter, Vicki Payne of Salem; a stepdaughter, Norma Caldwell of Mooresville; two sisters, Tina Floyd of Salem and Debbie Childers of Orleans; nine grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, Feb. 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home’s North Chapel.
Funeral: Friday, Feb. 25, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
