Man’s body found in field

Toxicology reports are still pending from an autopsy performed on an Elizabeth man who was found dead in a field last week.
According to a preliminary investigation by the Indiana State Police, David W. Clary, 34, was driving on Sand Hill Road late Monday night when, for unknown reasons, his Chevrolet pickup truck went off the road near Depauw Church Road.
Evidence indicates that Clary got out of the vehicle and was walking across an open field when it appears he collapsed in the field and died. His body wasn’t discovered until almost 6 p.m. the following day during a heavy rain.
Detectives with the Indiana State Police have ruled out foul play.
An autopsy was performed last Wednesday, but the findings will not be complete until toxicology results return, which typically takes up to six weeks.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department contacted Indiana State Police detectives and crime scene investigators after Clary’s body was located in the field.
This investigation is continuing.
