Rita Kay Carver, 66, Corydon, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at Wedgewood Healthcare Center in Clarksville.
Born Dec. 16, 1944, in New Albany, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Gladys Goldman Sherron.
She was a retired school teacher, having taught at Leavenworth Elementary School, was a member of Leavenworth Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Leavenworth.
Survivors include a son, Charles Ray Carver of Stronghurst, Ill.; a daughter, Kyann Cummings of New Albany; and two grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, Jan. 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 14, after 11 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Friday, Jan. 14, at 1 p.m. with burial in Leavenworth Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers: Steve and Matt Whitaker, Gerald, Stewart and Susan McGuffey and Steve Willis.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society.
