John E. Pease

John E. Pease, 79, Corydon, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, in Corydon.
Born Nov. 19, 1931, in Corydon, he was the son of the late William and Julia Haas Pease.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 24th Infantry for the first 13 months of the conflict, a retired hydraulic mechanic for the old Naval Ordnance in Louisville and a member of Corydon VFW Post 2950.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Carl Pease, and a sister, Mary Ann O’Bryan.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah J. Porter of Louisville; a brother, Paul Pease of Depauw; two sisters, Martha Deutsch and Ruby Zurschmiede, both of Sellersburg; and two grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, Jan. 13, from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 14, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 15, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Saturday, Jan. 15, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial, including military rites, in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Officiant: The Rev. Alvin Wilson.
