25th annual Light Up Corydon Saturday

Kick off this year’s holiday season Saturday at the 25th annual Light Up Corydon Festival on the town square.
Festivities will begin at noon with the merchant open house. The historic Gov. Hendricks’ Headquarters will host an open house from noon until 6 p.m.
Many other activities are scheduled throughout the day, including registration for a Shopping Spree Giveaway (must be 21 and present to win) and WKLO’s Kringle Jingle Kash prize giveaway.
Santa is expected to arrive just in time to light up the square. Children can visit with Santa and have their pictures made with him inside the First State Capitol Building after St. Nick fulfills his responsibility of turning on the thousands of lights that were strung by the Corydon Central Vanguard members and their parents.
The festival also will kick off sales for the annual Light Up Corydon ornament made by Zimmerman Art Glass Factory. The ornament will be available, while supplies last, for $28 at the Blaine H. Wiseman Visitor Center, Butt Drugs, The Christmas Goose and Town Square Gallery. Proceeds will go to Main Street Corydon, the event’s sponsor, to help with future funding for Light Up Corydon.
Santa also will be available for pictures the three Saturdays prior to Christmas (Dec. 4, 11 and 18) from 1 to 5 p.m. in the First State Capitol.
