George W. Rosenbarger
George W. Rosenbarger, 84, New Albany, passed away Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
He was a native of Corydon and a U.S. Army/Air Corps veteran having served in World War II. Mr. Rosenbarger was retired as a real estate developer-builder in the Floyd and Clark County area for many years. After retirement, he joined the AARP and was president of the local chapter. He also served as an elder at St. John’s Presbyterian Church and was a longtime member of the American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post No. 28 in New Albany.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Edward Rosenbarger.
Survivors include his wife, the former Rose Bruner; two sons, James Rosenbarger (Mara-Lea) of Bloomington and John Rosenbarger (Susan) of New Albany; two stepsons, William Michael Arnold (Elaine) of New Albany and Anthony Arnold (Beverly) of Macon, Mo.; a daughter, Sarah Rosenbarger of Greenville, S.C.; two stepdaughters, Kimberly Arnold of Jeffersonville and Mabel Bond (Neal) of Sellersburg; a sister, Anna Mae Sandage of Lebanon, Tenn.; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; six step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, Nov. 7, from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook, Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Home in New Albany and Monday, Nov. 8, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at St. John Presbyterian Church in New Albany.
Funeral: Monday, Nov. 8, at 10:30 a.m. at the church with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
