Alice F. Embree, 67, Corydon, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at University Community Hospital in Tampa, Fla.
Born Aug. 1, 1943, in Corydon, she was the daughter of the late Rush and Lenora Kintner Curts.
She was a retired employee of Verizon.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Allan Benton.
Survivors include a son, Robert Benton of New Salisbury; two daughters, Sandra Benton of Clarksville and Sara Embree Gannon of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; two brothers, Lafe Curts of Corydon and Carl Curts of Pensacola, Fla.; seven sisters, Sherry Webb of Marengo and Lisa Austin, Clara Amy, Betty Kingsley, Flossie Mathes, Joyce Wiseman and Bonita McDonald, all of Corydon; and three grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Oct. 20, from noon to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 21, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Officiant: The Rev. Jeff Reed.
Pallbearers: Michael Amy, Dennis Wiseman, Terry McDonald, David Webb, Jimmy Austin and Steven Kingsley.
The family suggests memorial gifts be made to either the American Diabetes Association or to the Lymphoma Research Foundation.
