Horan places first at Lanesville 8-miler

Mike Horan was the top overall finisher at the Lanesville 8-miler on Sept. 11. Horan, 30, won the event, which was part of the Lanesville Heritage Festival activities. He won the men’s open title with a time of 45:35.
Placing second in the men’s race was Michael Meyer, who passed the finish line in 46:21. Rounding out the top five were Greg Ruckle (48:21), Bryan Emerson (49:57) and Tyler Geers (50:31).
The women’s open 8-mile run was won by Roberta Meyer. Meyer, 46, won the race with a time of 55:07. Three female runners completed the event in less than an hour. Placing second was Mary Anne Tonini (55:16) and third was Laura Chisman (58:36). Taking fourth place was Sheri McWilliams (1:00:34) and fifth was Carrie Emerson (1:01:49).
In the 5-mile walk, John Tonini was the top placer, with a time of 56:28. Placing second was Lee Striegel (56:46).
The kids’ 2-mile run winner was Daniel Fleace, completing the event in 14:13. Finishing second, one second behind, was Curtis Wetzel. The top female finisher was Bailey Kaake (15:59), followed by Alexandra Scarber (18:10).
