James F. Hulse

James F. Hulse, 85, Elizabeth, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born Aug. 2, 1925, in Ohio County, Ky., he was the son of the late William D. and Bernice Johnson Hulse.
He was a retired carpenter at B.F. Goodrich in Louisville, a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in Elizabeth and a Coast Guard veteran of World War II, having served on an LST 795 in the Letyte Gulf, Iwo Jima and Okinawa, where he received the Purple Heart.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie F. Price Hulse, and a brother, William Carroll Hulse.
Survivors include a son, Dee Hulse of Georgetown; a daughter, Bernice Buchanan of Elizabeth; a sister, Edith Farris of Echols, Ky.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Sept. 15, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 16, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, Sept. 16, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth.
Officiant: The Rev. Richard Goodwin.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the WHAS Crusade for Children.
