Ruby D. Collins

Ruby D. Collins, 85, Corydon, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at University Hospital in Louisville.
Born Dec. 24, 1924, in Hartford, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Alsip Ashford.
She worked 23 years for Philip Morris in Louisville, retired from Snyder’s Department Store in Clarksville and was a member of Household of Faith Church in Crandall.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ray Collins; a grandson, Brian Anderson; three brothers, Jesse, Samuel and Roy Ashford; and two sisters, Katherine Basham and Goldie Pierce.
Survivors include a son, Carl Brewer of Finchville, Ky.; a daughter, Paula Wallace of Corydon; a sister, Elizabeth Mills of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, Sept. 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Sept. 14, after 10 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery near Crandall.
Officiant: Sister Anna Maria Drost.
