Julia A. Sparks

Julia A. London Sparks, 97, Corydon, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Lincoln Hills Health Care Center in New Albany.
Born Nov. 24, 1912, in Henderson, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Clifford B. and Lee Crowley London.
She was employed by Green Thumb and the tourist information center in Corydon, was a former employee of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Louisville and was a member of Corydon Church of Christ.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis Sparks, and three sisters, Mary and Martha London and Beatrice Sims.
Survivors include a son, David Sparks of New Albany; three daughters, Mary Lee Gaddis of Ramsey, Linda Sue Winsatt of Louisville and Jean Lambert of Louisville; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Aug. 17, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 18, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Wednesday, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville.
Officiant: Brother Marvin Purkhiser.
Pallbearers: Brian Combs, Michael Stinson, Michael Barnett, Charlie Lambert, Louis Walker and Darren Estes.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Alzheimer’s Association.
