William B. Jenks

William B. (Bill) Jenks, 69, New Albany, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville.
Born Nov. 29, 1940, in New Albany, he was the son of the late Raymond B. and Dorthea L. Kraft Jenks.
He was a 1958 graduate of Providence High School, a graduate of the former Kentucky School of Mortuary Science, a funeral director for many years at Kraft Funeral Service, served one term as Floyd County Coroner, served four terms as Floyd County Treasurer and served two terms as Floyd County Clerk before his retirement in 2001. He was a member of the Floyd County Men’s Democrat Club, the Manzanita Tribe Independent Order of Redmen, the Voiture 40 & 8 No. 1250, the Elks Club and St. Mary’s Catholic Church, all in New Albany.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Lynn Jenks.
Survivors include his wife, the former Susie O’Hara; a daughter, Suzy Kaelin of New Albany; three stepchildren, Mark Farmer of Australia, Sharon Bullock of Baton Rouge, La., and Scott Farmer of New Albany; two sisters, Anna Board of Austin, Texas, and Pat Leist-Stumler of New Albany; and two grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, Aug. 8, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 9, after 8 a.m. at Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany.
Funeral: Monday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of New Albany with burial in the church cemetery.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Hosparus Hospice of Southern Indiana, St. Mary’s Catholic Church of New Albany or Providence High School.
