Marjorie Ruth Drake, 80, Tell City, died Friday, July 30, 2010, at Oakwood Health Campus.
Born Feb. 17, 1930, in Perry County, she was the daughter of the late Evan and Leslie Schraner Carter.
She worked in the mounting department at General Electric from 1948 until 1962, cooked at Hoosier Heights School from 1968 until 1991 when she retired and was a member of Gatchel Home Economics Club and Lilly Dale Church of Christ.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Lee Drake, in 1995; a brother, Elwood Carter; and three grandchildren, Lydia Jones, Todd Etienne and Max Cassidy.
Survivors include five daughters, Diana Jones and Sharon Drake, both of Cannelton, Ginger Krieg of Tell City, Lana Etienne of Magnet and Rebecca Cassidy of Depauw; a son, Larry of Tell City; a brother, Frederick (Bud) Carter of Cannelton; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, Aug. 1, from 2 to 7 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 2, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel.
Funeral: Monday, Aug. 2, at 11 a.m. at Lilly Dale Church of Christ in Gatchel with burial in the church cemetery.
