Edward (Ned) Carter, 79, Laconia, died Saturday, July 31, 2010, in Wilmington, N.C.
Born April 29, 1931, in Chestnut Grove, Ky., he was the son of the late Pascal and Olga Long Carter.
He was a retired chemical operator at Rohm & Haas in Louisville, a member of Grace Tabernacle Assemblies of God Church near Laconia and a chaplain at the Harrison County Jail.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Pascal Carter Jr., and a sister, Gertrude LaDuke.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Bartley Carter; a son, Greg Carter of Laconia; two daughters, Marcia Brown of Stamping Ground, Ky., and Terri Stewart of Laconia; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Aug. 3, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 4, after 9 a.m. at Grace Tabernacle Assemblies of God Church near Laconia.
Funeral: Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 1 p.m. at the church with burial in Union Chapel Cemetery near Laconia. Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon is handling arrangements.
The family suggests memorial gifts to his church’s jail ministry fund.
