Grant E. Buchanan

Grant E. (Buck) Buchanan, 87, French Lick, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at 2:07 a.m. at Medco Health and Rehabilitation Center in French Lick.
Born April 4, 1923, in Orange County, he was the son of the late Eli and Dora McKinney Buchanan.
He was retired from the Army, having served in World War II and Korea, was employed in the ammunitions ordinance at Crane and was a member of Hillham Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Opal Marie Cooley; a sister, Ethel Chastain; three infant sisters; a grandson, Jeffrey Carroll Land; and two great-granddaughters, Tiana Marie Baylis and Kaitlin Land.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Buchanan; two sons, Jerry L. Buchanan of West Baden and Garry Edward Buchanan of Elizabeth; three daughters, Judith Rae Land and Dawn J. Zehr, both of French Lick, and Cathy Mae Antone of Paoli; a sister, Betty June Allen of Greenwood; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, July 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, July 15, after 9 a.m. at T.L. Pinnick Mortuary in French Lick.
Funeral: Thursday, July 15, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Paoli Community Cemetery.
Officiants: The Revs. Darrel Land, Joe Crow and Mike Grable.
