Dempsey L. Crawhorn Sr.

Dempsey L. Crawhorn Sr., 88, Corydon, died Friday, June 18, 2010, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born April 4, 1922, in Indianapolis, Ind., he was the son of the late William D. and Stella B. Clark Crawhorn.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, retired from Dixie Warehouse and Cartage Co. in Louisville and was of the Baptist faith.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Wilma Jean Bailey, and three siblings, Hazel Mann and William and James Crawhorn.
Survivors include four sons, Dempsey Jr., Russell and Thomas Crawhorn, all of Corydon, and Timothy Crawhorn of Nashville; six daughters, Barbara Castleberry of Hamilton, Ga., Jane Garrett of Shiloh, Ga., Wanda Harris of New Salisbury, Beverly West of Kenosha, Wis., Wilma Wyatt of Brandon, Fla., and Deborah Spain of Corydon; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, June 22, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, June 23, after 10 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Wednesday, June 23, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown.
Officiant: Pastor Rollie Collins.
