John D. Conrad

John Douglas (J. D.) Conrad, 77, Corydon, died Friday, March 19, 2010, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born Jan. 10, 1933, at Marengo, he was the son of the late DeLancy and Brittie Glosson Conrad.
He was retired from Ford Motor Co. in Louisville after 33 years of service, was a member of United Auto Workers Union and Marengo Christian Church and volunteered at the Corydon Country Club.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clayton and Floyd Conrad, and two sisters, Catherine Hasenstab and Mary Agan.
Survivors include his wife, the former Wanda M. Poe; two sons, Jerry D. Conrad of Corydon and Terry L. Conrad of New Albany; a daughter, Peggy S. Gayheart of Georgetown; a brother, Robert Conrad of Milltown; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Monday, March 22, at 1 p.m. at Marengo Christian Church with burial in Union Chapel Cemetery at Milltown.
Officiants: the Revs. Mark Horton and Bruce Hawkins.
Organist: Rebecca Sweeney.
Pallbearers: Josh, Brandon and Ryan Conrad, Chris Gayheart, Michael Lindemann and Corey Booth. Honorary pallbearers: Jim, Doug and John Conrad and Michael Hasenstab.
Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey handled arrangements.
