Roy M. Bowen

Roy Marshall Bowen, 69, Green Valley, Ariz., formerly of Harrison and Crawford counties, died suddenly Dec. 23, 2009.
Born Nov. 25, 1940, in Burkesville, Ky., he was the son of the late Luther and Ruth Bowen.
He was a 1959 graduate of Cumberland County High School in Burkesville, Ky., where he played in the varsity basketball team and received the FFA award, was a general contractor, having built the Milltown Medical Center, a master mason, a master carpenter, an electrician and a plumber.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Nelda Pierce, Margene Williams, Winnie Arndell, Vida Doss and Oleta Arndell, and a brother, Wayne Bowen.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, the former Harriett Josephine Nichol; a daughter, Kathryn Bowen of Rio Rico, Ariz.; a son, Andrew Bowen of Bloomfield, Ind.; a sister, Ara King of Bowling Green, Ky.; and two brothers, Berle Bowen of Georgetown and James Bowen of Attleboro, Mass.
There was no funeral since he was a donor to Life Legacy; however, there will be a memorial service in March at Amado (Ariz.) Baptist Church.
