Dr. Jack R. Moss, 88, Corydon, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at his home.
Born Dec. 13, 1920, in Salem, he was the son of the late Charles and Alga Ribelin Moss.
He was a Doctor of Optometry and established his optometric practice in 1949 and retired in December 2008. He was a member of Corydon Christian Church and the Knights of Pythias. He was Cub Scout Master of Pack 22 in Corydon, was a Corydon Central High School board member for eight years and was the Corydon Country Club Golf Champion in 1962. He was a World War II Army veteran of the European Theater in the 9th Tank Battalion of the 20th Armored Division.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred S. Moss, on Sept. 22, 2009.
Survivors include two sons, Pat Moss and Bryan Moss, both of Corydon; a daughter, Jill Robertson of Depauw; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, Dec. 4, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. to noon at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral and burial: private.
