Oxley I taken to hospital
State Rep. Dennie Oxley I, D-Taswell, has been hospitalized at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
The family did not respond to phone calls, and the nature of his illness and condition has not been disclosed.
According to one source, who asked to not be identified, Oxley became ill on Monday morning, Nov. 16, and was taken from his home near Taswell to the hospital by ambulance. He is thought to be in the critical care unit at the hospital.
Oxley, 60, is a school teacher in the Crawford County Community School Corp. and is serving his first two-year term in the Indiana House. He was elected to represent District 73 last year, succeeding his son, Dennie Oxley II, who held the seat for 10 years before giving it up to run for lieutenant governor with Jill Long Thompson, who was seeking the governor position.
District 73 includes Crawford Perry, Washington, Clark, Dubois, Jackson, Harrison and Scott counties.
