Paul E. Harmon, 84, Depauw, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born Feb. 1, 1925, in Depauw, he was the son of the late Alvin and Effie Grantz Harmon.
He was a retired meat cutter from the old A&P Grocery in Corydon and a farmer.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee and Marel Harmon.
Survivors include his wife, the former Marianna Hughes; a son, James E. Harmon of Depauw; four daughters, Paula A. Zellers and Marcia L. Gilottone, both of Depauw, and Janice L. Sauerheber and Karen M. Schwartz, both of Corydon; a sister, Emma Heeke of Depauw; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 19, after 8 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Thursday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Thompson Chapel Cemetery.
Officiants: Timothy Gutknecht and Jerry Swarens.
Organist: Nina Rothrock.
Honorary pallbearer: John H. Sauerheber.
Pallbearers: Robert, Richard, Roy and Marel Wayne Harmon and Donny, Brian and Barry Whittaker.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Kentuckiana Medical Center, 4601 Medical Plaza Way, Clarksville, IN 47129 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
