Lawrence P. Wisman

Lawrence P. (Sonny) Wisman, 76, Laconia, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born Feb. 19, 1933, in New Albany, he was the son of Mary Wisman Heinze.
He was a Coast Guard veteran, a retired supervisor at Thornton Oil Co. and a member of the Catholic faith and Hornickle Post American Legion 379 in Elizabeth.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Emidd Heinze.
Survivors besides his mother include his wife, the former Phyllis J. Hatton; a daughter, Kimberly Haste; seven sons, David, Paul, Markt, Mike and Richard Wisman and Rex and Scott Tague; three sisters, Clara, Susan, Martha and Eilene; and three grandchildren.
Funeral: Monday, Oct. 19, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon with burial in Otterbein Cemetery near Laconia.
Officiant: Father Mike Hilderbrand.
Pallbearers: Tony Ford, Tommy Caussmair, Roger Jenkins, Loren McMonigle, Bill Brock, Stanley Kingsley and J.K. Kingsbury.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society.
