Irene Smith Fisher, 79, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville.
Born Aug. 5, 1930, in Palmyra, she was the daughter of the late Hobart E. and Hazel A. Emily Smith.
She was a member of New Salisbury United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school for more than 50 years, was a member of the church choir, taught kindergarten and preschool for 20 years and was a member of Harrison County Home Economic Club for more than 50 years.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Fisher, and three brothers, Warren, Wendell and Malcolm Smith.
Survivors include four sons, Steve Fisher of Largo, Fla., Bruce Fisher of Ramsey, Kim Fisher of Floyds Knobs and Neil Fisher of Nicholasville, Ky.; two brothers, Lloyd Smith of Georgetown and Carl C. Smith of Salem; a sister, Marian M. Wolfe of Rock Falls, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral: Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 11 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey with burial in Palmyra Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Leslie Grimsley.
