Virginia R. Vance

Virginia Ruth May Vance, 81, Marengo, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at her home.
Born July 30, 1928, in Fredericksburg, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Horner Roggenkamp and Elmer V. May.
She was a retired teacher, having taught at Throop, Greenville and Marengo Elementary schools, and was a member of Marengo United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and UMC Quilters.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Wayne Vance; a son, Mark Wayne Vance of Fredericktown, Ohio; a daughter, Julia V. Vance of Marengo; two brothers, Paul David May of Milltown and Dennis J. May of New Salisbury; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, Aug. 17, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Milltown and Tuesday, Aug. 18, after 9 a.m. at Marengo United Methodist Church.
Funeral: Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m. at the church.
Officiant: The Rev. Deborah Reichenbach.
Burial will be later in Marengo Cemetery.
